There’s even a video on cervical x-ray taking techniques.

Chiropractor Takes Cervical X-Rays — The video is about four minutes long and it features a chiropractor showing some basic methods for taking cervical spine x-rays in a chiropractic office. He’s using a 10 x 12 x-ray cassette in he talks about the Buck, lead shielding, 40 inch distance for taking x-rays of AP open mouth cervical x-rays, and a few other things.

The chiropractor first checks posture while the patient is laying face down, or prone, assesses various spinal areas, then checks the neck or cervical spine while the individual is lying on her back. He makes several adjustments, addressing areas in the neck, in the thoracic spine or mid back, in the lumbar spine or low back, and in the sacral region, often referred to in the general population as the tailbone.

Toggle Recoil Chiropractic — A chiropractor demonstrating the toggle recoil lateral atlas correction on a left upper cervical misaligned spinal vertebrae. The chiropractor uses a drop head piece and rests the individuals head comfortably on the spring-loaded head piece. After palpation of the spinal vertebrae the chiropractor sets up on the uppermost part of the neck, just below the mastoid process, and delivers a quick toggle thrust that creates just enough force to adjust the position of the vertebrae and set the table’s head piece into motion.

Chiropractic Mission — The description says it all… Chiropractors serving Gods People. This video is seven minutes long and it includes numerous clips from the world-famous 1998 chiropractic mission to Panamá. Hundreds of thousands of people received chiropractic care for free thanks to the incredible work of dedicated people that included chiropractors, their office assistants, Panamanian health-care workers, government officials, airlines personnel, local Panamanian police and military employees. The events were so successful that they sparked debate in the United States with people questioning whether the events actually took place. There was so much disbelief that a small group could organize such a massive effort that some actually took the position that it couldn’t have happened, even though the events were caught on film with segments appearing across Central America on CNN broadcasts.

An increased number of chiropractic videos have been showing up online during the past few weeks. Los Angeles chiropractor, Dr. Michael Dorausch of ADIO chiropractic has been regularly creating, editing, and posting chiropractic content videos to online sources such as Google, youtube and DaveTV.

What used to be a rather complicated procedure and could take up huge amounts of bandwidth, is now a fairly easy task to accomplish. Videos can be created in a chiropractor’s office and uploaded directly from an office computer that is connected to the Internet.

Some examples of videos featuring chiropractic can be viewed here…

Loading...

The videos give doctors of chiropractic an opportunity to educate the public about chiropractic care and spinal hygiene. Modern Web 2.0 tools make it very easy to incorporate videos into multiple web sites. Chiropractic video like the ones shown here could potentially be displayed on hundreds or even thousands of web sites worldwide.

Here is a video of someone getting adjusted in a chiropractor’s office…

Loading...

Most of these videos are sourced and originate from the planetc1.com website which has been providing chiropractic videos online since 1997, back in the day when people were using realmedia format and the old Windows media player ASF and AFX files.

I was just searching online to locate a good price on 8.5″ Wide chiropractic headrest table to use in my LOS Angeles Chiropractic office.

I have ordered face paper from many different companies such as Meyers, Scrip, Rohan, and others. I received a promo in the mail today from Scrip for *$15.00 off on my next order so I thought I’d check their prices.

According to the website prices were as follows…

CREPE HEADREST PAPER 8.5′W X 125′L, 25 ROLLS: $33.34
ECONOMY HEADREST PAPER, 8.5′W 225′L, 25 ROLLS: $36.79
SMOOTH HEADREST PAPER 8.5′W X 225′L, 25 ROLLS: $44.26

Turns out my coupon is only good if spending 125.00 or more so I’ll be passing on making a purchase from scrip-inc anytime soon.

I did a quick search online and found a company called Barrington Equipment had online ordering. I have purchased headrest paper from them before and they have good prices as well.

8.5″ Wide x 125′, Chiropractic Crepe Headrest Paper, 25 Rolls, Headrest Paper, 25 Rolls - Crepe: $24.99
8.5″W x 225′L, Headrest Paper, 25 Smooth Rolls: $29.95

I ordered 4 cases from them and noticed they offer google checkout as well. Shipping was $44.95 which made my total $164.75. I’d love to find a face paper supplier with lower shipping costs. When I do I’ll post that information here.

After using the Internet for the past 15 years I think that yesterday was the first time that I ever can recall doing a search for the term medicine.

I do searches for the term chiropractic and chiropractic related topics many times each day but I can’t recall ever doing a search for the term medicine. People often tell me it must be really difficult to maintain a web site with a top 10 search engine ranking for terms such as chiropractic. For example, the popular web site planet chiropractic has been in Google’s top 10 search results since as long as I can remember. Most of the web sites appearing in the top 10 for that term have been there for quite some time with the exception of Wikipedia and maybe one or two other web sites.

I never really gave it much thought before but after someone mentioned it yesterday I thought if the term chiropractic was tough to rank for, then the term medicine could potentially be a really difficult term to get recognized in the top 10. I decided to do some research which I will share with you here. It is always important to remember that search changes all the time and the information I’m sharing here today may not be valid tomorrow.

I went to Google, the world’s most popular search engine, and did a search for the term “medicine.” (click on the term to the left to see what’s in Google’s results) Here is the list of the top 10 sites that appeared when I did my searching, along with some information about the web sites showing up on the list.

Search Term: Medicine
Position #1 - Wikipedia
Wikipedia is in position number one but I don’t know when they took over the top position. Although the Wikipedia medicine page does not have the highest PR on the list, it is in the top position. The Wikipedia page currently has a PR7.

Position #2 - MedicineNet
MedicineNet is a web site owned by WebMD. It was interesting to me to discover that WebMD is not listed in the top 10 when searching for the term medicine. From what I could find by doing some online research, WebMD Health Corp. (referred to as WHC) acquired MedicineNet, Inc. on December 24, 2004 for approximately $17,223. Less than three years later, that seems to me as an incredibly spectacular deal for the WebMD Corp. MedicineNet currently has a PR7 page rank value.

Position #3 - Medicine in the Yahoo! Directory
The Yahoo! Directory sits in position number three for the term. The top three search terms are often considered platinum, gold, and silver. I would imagine it would be a pretty massive feat for web site to move any of these top three out of their current positions. It’s nice to see that Google has Yahoo! listed as a resource when doing searches.

Position #4 - MedlinePlus ( a .gov website)
MedlinePlus is a United States Government web site owned by the NIH (National Institute of Health) and the National Library of Medicine. Of all the web sites I checked appearing in the top 10, medlineplus (along with another .gov) had the highest PR ranking, which was a PR8.

For those that don’t know, this is what a PR8 PageRank image looks like…

Position #5 - DMOZ Open Directory Project
The number five position goes to the Open Directory Project also known as DMOZ. I would’ve thought that the open directory had been around for ages but according to whois records the web site was created in January 1999. Page rank for the medicine directory area was PR7. Here is some in info from whois…

Domain ID:D2914575-LROR
Domain Name:DMOZ.ORG
Created On:02-Jan-1999 05:00:00 UTC
Last Updated On:03-Jan-2007 01:21:39 UTC
Expiration Date:02-Jan-2008 05:00:00 UTC
Sponsoring Registrar:America Online, Inc (R19-LROR)

Interestingly, on the DMOZ page for the term medicine, the top three directories listed were as follows…

Medical Specialties (4,804) — Surgery (2,238) — Alternative Medicine (5,325)

Apparently there are more listings for alternative medicine then there are for medical specialties.

Position #6 - National Library of Medicine - National Institutes of Health (www.nlm.nih.gov)
In position number six was another United States government web site. This one was the national library of medicine, the same branch of government that owns the web site in position number four. This web site also has a PR8 page rank value.

Position #7 - eMedicine
According to the web site, eMedicine features up-to-date, searchable, peer-reviewed medical journals, online physician reference textbooks, and a full-text article database. This is another medical web site that was purchased by WebMD Corp. According to information I could locate on the purchase, the web site sold for around $25,195 and it was acquired in January of 2006. Currently this web site has a PR7 Google page rank.

Position #8 - The www virtual library biosciences medicine (www.ohsu.edu/cliniweb/wwwvl/)
This web site really has quite a long URL and it’s impressive to find them holding position number eight for this particular search term. The web site is owned by Oregon Health Sciences University and it is the only educational (.edu) domain appearing in the top 10 list. The URL which is listed above is at a current page rank of PR7.

Position #9 - www.md-journal.com
Position number nine is a web site owned by a major health-care book publisher called Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. According to the description tag, the web site is a “Bimonthly journal covering the latest results in clinical investigation relevant to hospital and office practice.” When I checked the web site they were using session ID tags so page rank was not appearing. The web site displayed a PR of zero.

Position #10 - Google Directory - Health > Medicine
Google’s own directory is holding position number 10 for the search term medicine. When I checked the category listings, there were 6308 listed forAlternative Medicine and 66 listed for Basic Sciences. The full URL is: www.google.com/Top/Health/Medicine/ and the Google directory page had a PR value of 7.

Among the things that I thought were interesting was that the number one position was held by a page that can be edited by anyone with an Internet connection. The number two page and number three page were owned by commercial entities, one doing business specifically in the field of medicine. There were two government web sites and to web sites owned by the Web MD Corp. appearing in the top 10. WebMD was the only commercial entity focused in the field of medicine making it to the top 10 list.

Interestingly, there were no drug companies on the top 10 list. The American Medical Association is also absent from the list. Also, the United States government was running a Google adwords campaign warning of the risks of purchasing medicines online. I also saw a contextual ad for MSN, advertising their medical directory pages.

Maybe I’ll check back on this topic in a year or so. Thanks for reading and best of health to you!

While there have been hundreds of chiropractic schools opened and closed during the 1900’s, there are currently only 17 in the USA that are accredited for chiropractic licensure.

The seventeen US chiropractic schools include Palmer Chiropractic college, which was the first chiropractic school to open (in the early 1900’s) as well as Palmer Chiropractic College Florid, one of the newest chiropractic colleges in the nation.

There are two chiropractic schools in Canada and several others throughout the world. South Africa now has two chiropractic schools. A school of chiropractic recently opened in Mexico City, Mexico and there are schools located in New Zealand, the UK, Japan, Australia, and a few other countries.

Chiropractic has been taught in the USA longer than in any other country with Palmer being the first school to open (Davenport, Iowa circa de 1900).

There are 4 chiropractic schools in the state of California, more than exist in any other state. It comes as no surprise that there are more California chiropractors practicing chiropractic than there are in any other state in the USA.

Not sure which state has the 2nd largest popular of chiropractors but I would expect it is either New York, Florida, or Michigan. I’ll get some details and post them to these pages when I have more info.

Crystal meth not good for babies
by Michael Dorausch, DC — planetc1.com staff writer

US scientists have recently published a report with findings that babies can be exposed to methamphetamine or “crystal meth” while in the womb.

The study, published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood, involved analysis of hair samples by researchers who determined that crystal meth is able to cross the placenta directly to the developing fetus.

While research authors suggest that though the precise effects of the drug on a fetus are not fully known, the evidence so far points to restricted fetal growth and developmental problems. Not good news for babies whose moms are using methamphetamines.

According to the study, crystal meth users were also more likely to use other drugs, with cocaine being the most predominant.

Methamphetamine, sometimes referred to as methylamphetamine or desoxyephedrine, is a psychostimulant used primarily for recreational drug purposes. It is sometimes prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy under the brand name Desoxyn. Meth causes euphoria and excitement by acting directly on the brain’s reward mechanisms, causing a cascading release of norepinephrine and dopamine, thus making it highly addictive.

At this point you may be thinking… do we really need scientific research to determine whether methamphetamines are safe for babies in the womb? It’s probably OK to suggest that we can add meth, crank, yaba, and other methamphetamine related substances to the list of things pregnant moms should not be smoking, injecting, ingesting, or consuming.

Remember, fetal development is also affected by exposure to nicotine, cigarette smoke, heroin, methadone, cocaine, alcohol, and many other substances.

Wanna feel euphoric naturally while pregnant? Try getting a chiropractic adjustment. Not only is chiropractic safe for both mom and baby, many moms have reported easier births, improved sleep, reduced sciatic pain, greater energy, as well as other benefits.

Here is the adderall article that I saw…
Adderall Drug Controversy Continues
Controversy surrounding the prescription stimulant medication Adderall has been in the press frequently this past week. Adderall, a prescription amphetamine, typically prescribed for children and adults with ADHD, is becoming more popular for its off label uses. Among the many side effects for those taking Adderall, a decrease in appetite, insomnia, increased anxiety and irritability are all potentials.

Are you familiar with chiropractic classifieds? You must have seen classifieds in the Newspaper in many pages. This is one of the easiest, cheapest and most convenient ways of advertising. Web sites also do have a space for classifieds nowadays, and what we are going to look at is an ideal example for that. At the beginning of the page, the terms and conditions for classifieds have been stated. The payment methods and rates too are included. This service known as Planet Chiropractic Classified Ad service provide free advertising for certain categories such as chiropractic jobs and associate positions. But, charges us $ 5 per week for Practices For Sale. They also highlight that they have been able to maintain this site and give some adds free of charge with the help of the people who advertise here by paying. Payments here can be done through via Paypal or check.

Next important part is the neat search tool which works on keywords. You can use the option either to use all the keywords or any of keywords for the search. This is a very handy tool, which makes the user find what they want, with a lot of ease and efficiency. Before the classifieds, there is another header which allows you ad posting, ad maintenance, viewing your profile, viewing your quick links, turning on auto notifications, and also providing help about the system.

Post ads
First of all you must be a registered user if you are hoping to post an ad, and it is so simple. All you have to do is to provide your email address and a password for your account. If you are an already registered user you can fill in the above mentioned fields and login.

Ad maintenance
This is also a feature that can be used by the registered members. When you Login into the maintenance area, you can edit, delete, renew or modify photos attached to ads you have posted on Chiropractic Classifieds which would make your ad appear just the way you want it.

My profile
This is the place where user profiles can be created. To use this also, you must register.

My quick links
This is also a feature available for registered members, which houses a host of quick links for the user to obtain quick access.

Auto notify
This is another cool feature that is offered for the registered members. “The Auto Notify feature provides you a powerful tool to keep up to date on the newest ads posted to the Chiropractic Classifieds Classified Ads System. Using Auto Notify, you predefine specific search criteria for ads which may contain the information you have specified,” according to the help centre.

Help
This category provides with the help topics on browsing and finding ads, posting ads, ad maintenance, user registration, other system information and ad payment information. You can either type a keyword or find it using the given topics. This feature is available to anyone who visits this website. According to the help menu, you also can send these for your friend to view.

Classifieds
By clicking ‘Home’ in the header you can view the page where you can see the classifieds. These classifieds are categorised under certain topics and the number of classifieds in each topic is mentioned adjacent to it. Fairly enough, the relevant charges have been stated at the bottom of the details of the topic. So, if anyone wants to post an ad in a particular category, he is aware how much exactly he has to pay. From the description given under the topic, you can easily find what exactly you will be able to find in that category. Loaded with all this information, it’s just a matter of clicking the mouse to get hold of what you want.

All: Chiropractor Practices for Sale
By clicking this topic, you’ll be able to find the ads posted from all over the world. There are 149 ads posted under this topic, and the majority is from the US. Other than the given topic, there are ads for other Real Estate Properties, Practice wanted as well. When you click those, you get to see all the ads posted here, similar to the newspaper classifieds, but in a more attractive and informative manner. Some of the ads have contact information as well, enabling anyone who requires contacting and getting the information. Though they provide space to have a photograph most of them doesn’t have that feature given to the customer.

There are around 14 categories displayed here. All these contain various ads in various subjects. Anyone who visits this website would have a great probability of getting what they are looking for, because of the number of classifieds available.

What to improve
Although this website provides a very helpful service, its appearance is not very attractive. Users have been motivated to use this site primarily due to its service, but not because of its look and feel. It would have been better if the page would be more structured, so that people can find what they want more easily without getting the feeling of going through a maze. Apart from these few issues, the website’s service is up to the mark.

However, it is noteworthy to mention that this would be a great area for classifieds for you to find whatever you need. It’s just a click away, fast and easy.

I wanted to put together a site that was on a subdomain of this chiropractic website and I thought it would be an easy task.

The www prefix was already in use by the primary allchiro.com site so I thought what else could be used? I decided to create a subdirectory called “chiropractic” since that was what I planned on discussing in this space. I logged into my cPanel setup on my server and set some settings for subdomains.

Here is what cPanel wrote…

SubDomain Creation
Bind reloading on vps using rndc zone: [allchiro.com]
The subdomain, chiropractic.allchiro.com has been added.

I figured it may take some time for DNS to propagate so I did not get impatient. I moved on to the next step…

SubDomain Creation
The zone for the root domain chiropractic.allchiro.com is missing, or could not be read. The ip address will be read from the webserver configuration and a new zone will be created for this subdomain. Bind reconfiguring on vps using rndc

Created DNS entry for 1895.chiropractic.allchiro.com
The subdomain, 1895.chiropractic.allchiro.com has been added.

I’m glad the DNS entry was created and the subdomain was added but wondered if the “root domain” missing was going to be an issue. Turns out it wasn’t but something else was not functioning properly.

I installed this web blog with no errors but the pages would not appear online. Darn! I figured I’d try it again somewhere else and it worked on another server I own. Back to the server this site lives on it worked again on another domain. Looks like it was turning out to be an isolated issue affecting the specific IP address this site is using.

I ticket to NOC resolved the issue (after about 2 hours) and it turns out my httpd.conf file did not have ‘NameVirtualHost myipaddress’ before all the VirtualHost entries for the IP.

Once that was set all was just peachy! Now let’s see what we can do here besides just make our domains really annoying to type.

Introduction
Do you have any idea what a review is and what does it do? Let me quote you a definition taken from the web. “A review is a piece of writing that discusses the writers’ opinion on something. In addition to the verbalized opinion there may also be a formalized assessment; for instance, the author may assign the work one to five stars to indicate its relative merit. More loosely, an author may review current events or items in the news. A compilation of reviews may itself be called a review.”
Through this article I’m going to tell you about a page that contains reviews about a school. According to the page, this review page allows the people to get an insight of chiropractic schools easily, instead of going and asking a person who had been in the school.

Content of the webpage
There are details of three major schools of this School chain. They are Mctimoney Chiropractic College, Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City and Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. First they have given a brief description about the school and they have allowed others to review about the college. There is one, two and three reviews for each respectively. Almost all of them are from the past students. There is also a space for the viewers who want to make donations. You also have the facility to choose the category of School chain you are looking for. It can be Chiropractic Schools USA, Chiropractic Schools Canada or Chiropractic Schools International. You can choose the category you want and click on the name of the relevant institute.

For you to post a review, you must become a registered user of the website. You even have the option of finding a review done by someone else using keywords. They also invite the viewers, who are familiar with the featured schools here, to write helpful and reflective reviews for the others to know. Expanding their services to other schools in the near future is also expected to happen.

Just one click away…
If you click just once you are able to see fascinating descriptions about these schools. I can bet that anyone who reads a description over here would have a great desire to visit these schools.

Mctimoney Chiropractic College
The history and the location are mainly described in this website. They also have provided more information about their courses, admission, facilities and training sessions etc. It mentions about their motto as well. For this particular description there’s a comment done by a past student. He/ She states that it was really hard for to manage his/her work with the full time employment. He/ she also suggest earning money earlier because learning here is kind of expensive. That was his/her experience about the school. He/ she had rated the school with four stars out of five.

Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City
“The Cleveland Chiropractic Colleges are the only chiropractic institutions that continue under the leadership of a pioneering family member,” says the description. They are proud about their status. This College currently awards the degrees: Doctor of Chiropractic, Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and an Associate of Arts in Biological Sciences. Students who are studying these degrees, and also the students who study degrees in other health care professions can get qualified in physical and life science courses in fast, eight-week intervals at the College. There are two reviews for this College. Both are from past students of the college. Both are really happy about the time they spent in this place. The first reviewer had rated the College with three stars out of five, while the second had rated with four stars out of five.

Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic
The description given here is mainly Straight Chiropractic. Why should we study it? What are the prospects? These are some of the questions answered in this brief context. They have provided a link to browse some statistics related to this profession. There are three reviews for this particular institute. All are from three past students. The first two reviews are very lengthy ones. They mentions why they chose this profession and college, and who inspired them at the time of choosing. They had really loved the classes here. But, contradictory to the previous ones, the third and the last past student says he will not recommend this school to anyone, because he had got just very little help from this school! His overall rating is two stars out of five while the others rate four and three stars out of five respectively.

These are the main Schools appeared in the webpage it self. But if you click on the categories I mentioned above you will be able to know more about the Schools of this kind. Overall this website is very informative. Other than for the donation, which can be paid through paypal, the content is free. Hope you will have a pleasant experience viewing this website.
